Basketball: KPA champions command the KBF Premier League

The champion and defending Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) teams maintained their dominance in the 2022 Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Premier League after winning their respective matches over the weekend.

The KPA sides started the week top of their respective leagues after dominating their first seven matches.

The KPA men finished second in the men’s standings with 13 points from their six wins and one loss.

On the other hand, FIBA ​​Africa V Zone champions KPA Women, who are undefeated in their seven matches played so far, lead the standings with 14 points.

Last weekend in Nairobi, the KPA women beat hosts Eagle Wings 82-34, while the KPA men recorded a brace beating Thunder 69-51 on Saturday before humiliating Equity Bank Dumas 80-60 on Sunday at the stadium Nyayo.

The convincing victories allowed the men and women of KPA to maintain their strong start.

The KPA women lead with 16 points and are undefeated after eight matches.

On the other hand, KPA men overtook rivals Ulinzi Warriors from the top 12 team with 17 points.

The Dockers have won eight matches and lost just once – a 73-63 loss to newcomers Africa Nazarene University (ANU).

Ulinzi, who had no commitments over the weekend, slipped to second with 14 points earned from six wins and two losses.

ANU are third with 12 points from five wins and two losses. Strathmore Blades defeated Lakeside 76-42 to move from ninth to fifth with 10 points.

The Sharpshooters are also second with 10 points after losing two games.
