INDIANAPOLIS — Jamaree Salyer developed the kind of power that made him one of the most elite offensive linemen during his four-year career at Georgia on Friday night.
Salyer pumped 31 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the Indiana Convention Center, site of this drill at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Boston College lineman Zion Johnson was the only 2022 NFL Combine player to do more (32).
“I think I’m a very heady and knowledgeable player,” said Salyer. “I had questions about the five positions. Everybody likes to put me in that box of guys inside, but because of the “lack of athleticism”.
“But I played in the SEC four years, four good years, and I only gave up two sacks to great players.”
Salyer said Alabama’s Will Anderson beat him for a sack over Stetson Bennett in the SEC Championship Game while at tackle, and Tide’s Christian Harris passed him when he was down. on guard during the CFP Championship game.

Salyer said he’s also been working on his ability to play center, which will further boost his NFL Draft stock.
“He’s just becoming a complete player,” Sayer explained. “I worked a lot on the snap. I work on it every day in practice. I make sure it’s in my tool bag.
Salyer didn’t do any other drills at the NFL Combine on Friday, saying he’ll do them at UGA Pro Day on March 16.
“I’m just getting my body back, I’ve got a lot of games on my body plus the Senior Bowl,” said Salyer, who attended the annual All-Star event in Mobile, Ala., in January.
“I’m going to save a lot of workouts for Pro Day just to give my body a full chance to recover and put my best product out there.”
