Jaffna schoolboy in a 15 player basketball team


Two schoolchildren have been named to a 15-player Sri Lankan squad for the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Championship to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh next month.

Yoganathan Simron of Angel International School, Jaffna and Shehan Fernando of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo are the schoolchildren on the side led by veteran Clinton Stallone of the Navy.

The pool is a good mix of youth and experience and should feature well in the SABA Championship. A total of 60 players participated in the trials conducted by the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation.
