SWISH – FIBA.basketball

  • SWISH is part of the TIME-OUT 2.0 program developed in partnership with selected leading partner federations and experts in sports policy and other key partners among various international sports organizations such as the IOC, UEFA and the European Commission.

The general objective of this action is to give the opportunity to the staff members of the national federations to improve their skills and qualifications in the field of integrity in sport and integrity in basketball. They acquire new skills through learning mobility by participating in two two-day webinars and a three-day in-person workshop. Each participant must complete and present a special project on sports integrity for their national federation and present it to the SWISH panel. All participants will visit the FIBA House of Basketball and attend the final sessions before graduation.

Mobility for learning purposes should be seen as an investment in human capital and a contribution to building the capacities of the various sports organisations.

The Sport Policy SWISH program covers the following key topics:

    – What is sports policy and why is it important?
    – FIBA Code of Integrity and Player Compensation
    – Integrity in sport and the role of the IOC
    – Match-fixing and prevention
    – Sport bets
    – The FIBA anti-doping program and the new WADA code
    – Duty of care towards players

Participants prepare for a SPOC qualification.
